PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Volleyball Turkey

Category: Sports

Suggested Grade Level: 3-8

Materials: Turkey Bulletin board set, volleyball history facts, small turkeys

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I put up a buletin board about the Volleyball unit that we are doing. I used a turkey board set as the center of the board, surrounding the turkey are the facts about volleyball (e.g. invented in Holyoke, Mass in 1895, invented by William G. Morgan, invented at the YMCA etc.). The children like to look at the facts and the big turkey as well. This is a great way to teach the children the history of the sport that they are doing and a great way to be in the spirit of the season.
