PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: The Great Gumball Gallery

Category: Motivation

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: Color Copier, paper punch and colored paper and glue


The Great Gumball Gallery is an incentive bulletin board. The students are given empty “Gumball Machines” to fill with paper punch “Gumballs” They can take a “gumball” for set of physical activities. A set might be something like 10 jumping jacks, 10 mountain climbers, 15 push-ups, 15 crunchers, 20 windmills, something to that effect. This way they can earn a few gumballs each class session. Once they fill their gumball machine, they can elect to participate in a free session class day with an activity of their choice.
