Pedometer Program Promotion
To kick-off the start of a New Pedometer Program at our school I invited all faculty members to try out a pedometer for 2 1/2 weeks. I provided each volunteer with a pedometer, information and instruction on pedometer usuage, and log sheets. The participants log their daily steps to determine a baseline step count, set a goal to increase their daily physical activity, and record steps for 2 weeks. The participants that reach their goal for 2 weeks receive a certificate of acheivement to display in their classroom or office. I was amazed by the number of students that spotted my pedometer and they had many questions. The teachers and staff at St. Paul Catholic School are tremendous role models for the students. I was astonished by the response I received by our staff and their enthusiasm. What a great way to kick-off our program!
