Sportsmanship Pledge
Ten years ago as a new teacher, when I taught elementary physical education, I was horrified by the way that the students treated each other during competitive games. After a few months, I was tired of the name calling, tattling, and the mistreatment of others. I came up with the idea to have all the students in the school create a Sportsmanship Pledge, which they would recite before any competitive game. I took one important concept that each grade level came up with (K-5), and we made... Our Sportsmanship Pledge I promise to...
Play as part of a team
Do my best to play safely
Try not to hurt other people
Respect those around me
Treat others as I would like to be treated...
and always play with Bulldog Pride!
