Name of Best Practice: PE Picture of the Day

Rationale/Purpose of Event: To highlight students voluntary art work depicting physical education themes.

Suggested Grade Level: K-5

Materials Needed: Bulletin Board, Materials to make the board, and the picture from a student

PE Picture of the Day

This is a voluntary thing for students to participate in. I address all the students through our morning news program and let them know that I will be having a PE Picture of the Day bulletin board. I ask them to create pictures, drawings, etc. using Physical Education as the theme. They are to turn them in to me and then I feature a different picture each day on a bulletin board. Since my room is a multi-purpose room it doubles as the lunch room. Everyday the students get to look at a new original PE picture. On occasion there are no new pictures so I try to find some on the web, use clip art or make my own.

The kids love being able see their art work displayed!
