Book of Movement
After teaching the types of movement, levels, pathways, and tempo, students were asked to write a book that could be read by a kindergarten or first grade student. All of the above was to be a part of their story. They then illustrated their books and bound them. The finished products were then read to a lower grade buddy while that student acted out the movement parts. The books were then presented to their buddy as a gift.
Teaching Suggestions/Tips:
Give an example of an animal for instance running through a field as it jumped over a log, leaped over a creek, and zig zagged thruogh the garden. A rough draft of the story was submitted to ensure correct use of wording and spelling.
