* When one makes constant excuses to not eat at meals

* When one is preoccupied with food and calories

* When one constantly complains about weight, even when thin

* When one constantly complains of being cold and wears sweatshirts in hot weather

* When one draws back from society and becomes very secretive

* When one's nails turn blue

* When one exercises excessively
