Exercise During Pregnancy


Regular exercise (at least 3 times per week) is recommended over periodic exercise

Exercise intensity should be mild to moderate (It is recommended tht perceived exertion be used, rather than heart beat)

After first trimester, avoid exercise in the supine position (laying on the back)

While exercising, should drink plenty of water

Avoid exercising in heat and humidity

Avoid any activity or exercise that has the potential for even mild abdominal trauma
