Softball Web Sites |
|
This site is the ideal guide that runs through the most basic motions and mechanics of slow-pitch softball. The numerous of batting and fielding drills mentioned have a step-by-step explanation to set up the coach’s routine. A six-page Adobe Acrobat "softball basics" file is also available to download.
This site may be a bit slow to load and may require a plug in for certain sections but is well worth it. It has a variety of drills which can be incorporated into lesson plans or can be used by a coach. Once you get past the first page there are very few graphics so it should load a lot quicker. This site also has a multitude of links which the softball fanatic will enjoy browsing.
Literally hundreds of useful links are available on the site, covering every category of softball. Each position and dimension to the game comes with drills, methods to properly develop mentally and physically, a detailed breakdown of each player's on-the-field responsibilities, and much more. Several links focus on players with disabilities and ways to coach physically challenged players. Rather than obliterate with an abundance of drills, there are many games listed that help a player’s skills while making it a fun activity at the same time.
