Former Red Sox pitcher Dick Mills provides a detailed site that gives pitchers numerous tips ranging from weight room and medical training to mechanics and mental approaches on the mound. The site generally offers tidbits rather than step-by-step procedures and is designed more for the advanced pitcher. Nevertheless, Mills presents advice for parents and little leaguers as well, and also discusses how he has coached his own son, Ryan, over the years. The site has several public forums and interviews, including a discussion with current Oakland Athletic Barry Zito. Mills' developmental tips equip pitchers of all ages with a basis for gradual success and long-term maintenance of their bodies.
This site mostly focuses on the mechanics of a baseball swing. Ray Suplee, who played in the minor leagues for six years, talks about techniques in the batter’s pre-pitch movement, stance, stride and other focal points. There are several still photos illustrating his descriptions. Suplee also explains numerous drills to help improve your swing. The site also has drills for pitchers and defense, as well as a detailed practice plan for coaches that breaks down an hour-long regimen. Additionally, Suplee mentions some helpful training methods outside of baseball.
This site has articles on a multitude of strategies for the baseball coach. The site provides information on drills for every aspect of the game. It even provides a listing of baseball coaches looking for employment. Once at the site it may help to scroll to the bottom of the page in order to find the links to the drills that may be helpful to the secondary physical educator and/or coach.
