Greetings

Hope you are doing well. We had a great trip to Fort Worth, Texas for the National AAHPERD Convention. Thanks to all of you who came by the S&S booth. It was great to put an email with a face! Thanks so much to our friends at S&S. They are terrific sponsors. We hope you get a chance to shop their new PE Superstore. You can save some money if you click on the S&S button on the front left side of PE Central. Well, lots going on. On with the PE news.

Announcement: Be on the lookout for information about a new project we are going to be introducing soon with the Coleman Company. Remember, last year you signed your kids up to climb to the top of Everest with 8th grade science teacher Mike Haugen. This coming school year we have something new planned with Coleman so stay tuned to the newsletter and the web site!

Summer Programs to Keep Kids Active

PE Central has designed a number of Kids Programs to help motivate them to stay physically active. We suggest telling your students about Log It and the PE Central Challenge. With Log It the kids (3rd grade and up) can stay active by recording their physical activity steps and miles over the summer. All the teacher has to do is set up your school by registering. Learn more here...

Log It

The PE Central Challenge features a great set of 6 cooperative and motor skill tasks that kids can do on their own and with their friends over the summer. We just finished the 9th Challenge. Registration will begin again on Oct. 1, 2008 for teachers. However you and your students can do this for free (you can purchase award pins or download certificates). The challenge tasks are fully explained here...

Education is an important goal shared by many people, but scheduled class times may be too inconvenient for some. Parents, members of the military, and working adults typically have difficulty committing to an inflexible class schedule.

Today's affordable and accessible technology allows those non-traditional students the ability to take college classes in a more convenient, flexible format. Distance learning has provided millions of students with a way to get an education while raising a family, being deployed, and working. Read More...
