Activity: The Pony Express
Equipment: 4 mail bags (gunny sack filled with 3 gator balls), 4 cones
Formation: relay formation with each team inside a corner of the area, standing by a cone
The first runner has the mail bag. On signal, the first runner runs one lap and then hands/delivers the mail bag to the next runner in his/her group. Now, the second runner is running one lap, then, hands/delivers the mail bag to the next runner in his/her group. Continue until each team member has had one turn, then stop. Change teams and try again. Remember, the mail bag has to go on one shoulder and under the opposite arm so it does not twist around the neck and so it does not fall off during the delivery (run).
