Swimming (Aquatics) Cues

Back Stroke

Suggested Grade Level: 6-12

Body is extended in the water with your head aligned with shoulders

Arms straight and alternate (nonsymmetrical). Keep fingers together and cupped

Brush ear with upper arm

Rotate arm so pinky enters water first

Rub thigh as you bring arm back toward surface

Pull down by your side and brush your thigh as arm returns to surface
