Swimming (Aquatics) Cues

Rhythmic Breathing

Suggested Grade Level: 6-12


Definition: Enables the swimmer to sustain a stroke over a period of time

Blow bubbles while face is in the water

Rotate one quarter turn toward water surface

Inhale with head above surface and arm extended back

If timed correctly, the student will be ready to inhale as soon as they have cleared the surface with their mouth
