Grubber Kick (Rugby)

Suggested Grade Level: 9-12

Begin by jogging slightly with the ball in both hands.

Hold ball perpindicular to the ground, away from your body, slightly over your dominant kicking foot.

Step forward with non-dominant foot while bringing your kicking foot back.

Drop the ball on a 15 degre angle with the top of the ball toward your body.

Kick the top of the ball with the top of your foot (your laces) just before it touches the ground, this will send the ball end-over-end on the ground.

The object of the kick is for the ball to roll and bounce, making it tough for the defense to pick it up.
