Bowling - how to hold the ball

Suggested Grade Level: K-2

Teach the students to hold up their "horns" with their fingers - pointer and pinky fingers are up while the other three fingers are down. Have them say "hook 'em horns" when they are correct. (University of Texas fans will appreciate this!)

The "horns" are the only two fingers that do not go in a hole in the bowling ball. The other three fingers go in the holes. The middle and ring fingers go side by side while the thumb stands alone.

Remind them when rolling the bowling ball that their "horns" should be underneath the ball.
