![]() Name of Activity: Pacing While Running Assessment
Purpose of Activity: The purpose of this assessment is to evaluate each child's awareness of pacing techniques while running. Suggested Grade Level: 6-8 Materials Needed: Assessment Sheet Description of Idea Each student is provided the following assessment (see below) to review their performance after doing some kind of running for distance (for this particular test it was done after the Mile Run fitness test). Please provide this to them after they have completed their run. Prior to this assessment, students are taught about the importance of proper pacing. Students perform a "self-check" on their performance and provide a short reflection on how to improve their pacing next time. This also evaluates students understanding of the body responses to aerobic activities. |
