 Name of Activity: Monthly Recess Physical Activity Point System Calendar
Purpose of Activity: To motivate students to be more physically active during recess. Prerequisites: Talk with students about how they can choose to be more physically active at recess. Suggested Grade Level: 2-5 Materials Needed: Any safe equipment that students wish to use to engage in physical activity during recess. Description of Idea I like to encourage children to be active during recess so I made this recording sheet for classroom teachers to hand out to their students. This allows the students to record their chosen physical activity and how many points it earned them for a month. Teaching Suggestions: You could offer incentives to those who meet certain point levels during a month or even offer a class prize like a popcorn party or choice day during PE. Make sure the students have a safe place to play and move at recess time. |
