![]() Name of Activity: Overhand Throw
Purpose of Activity: Using a teacher observation checklist, the teacher can assess each student's mastery of the cues used to throw overhand. Suggested Grade Level: K-2 Description of Idea The assessment is a teacher observation using a cue checklist while using color coded clothes pins to help keep track of whether the student mastered the cues you are looking for, sometimes show the cues, or never uses the cues. The clothes pins are simply clipped on to the students' clothes or shoe. An example would be using green clothes pins identify a student who always steps with his opposite foot, yellow for sometimes does it, and red clothes pins mark the students you never step with their opposite foot. The pin is also helpful in that it can help that student who needs prompting for a cue, such as stepping with their opposite foot, they are able to look down and see which foot they should be stepping with. |
