Name of Activity: Underhand Volleyball Serving Skills

Purpose of Activity: To assess the skill over the underhand volleyball serve.

Suggested Grade Level: 6-12

Materials Needed: Volleyball Rubric, volleyballs, nets, volleyball court.

Time Needed to Complete: 10 minutes.

Description of Idea

Students will perform 5 underhand serves for this assessment. This can be done at a station while the other students practice the underhand serve in other parts of the activity area. The students will be assessed using the rubric below. I post this rubric on the bulletin board about 3 days before I begin assessing the students. This way, they can view the criteria and practice before the assessment.
