Purpose of Activity: To safely and accurately acoount for all students during a fire drill. Suggested Grade Level: all Materials Needed: Class lists, construction paper. Description of Idea Since special area teachers may have any given class in their care during a fire drill, I started searching for a way to account for students during a fire drill, without having to run across the gym to grab my plan book from the office. My solution was to keep a copy of my class lists by the exit door. I taped a folder made of construction paper to the wall and placed these lists inside this folder. Now during a fire drill, I have my students line up and grab the class list on the way out. Not only does it save considerable time, the students never leave my sight. |
