Name of Activity: Flip the Frog

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials Needed: 1-2 small gatorskin balls , 1 stuffed animal frog

Description of Idea

One or two players are designated as "taggers" and work to tag the moving players. The moving players have a frog to use as "safe" or a "freeing" device, which may get passed/thrown to other players who are frozen. If frozen, the student must freeze and wait for the frog to be given or thrown to them and then they become free once again. Have students move using different modes of travel (walking fast, skipping, galloping or jogging). Throughout the activity, students may only use forms of non-verbal communication (e.g. waiving their hands, stomping their feet) to get the attention of the player with the frog.
