Name of Activity: 2002 Winter Olympics Extra Credit Homework

Purpose of Activity: The purpose of this project is to get you involved (Mom and Dad, too) and watching the world's best athletes as they compete for the "GOLD" for their country. Read the newspaper, watch on TV, or go to the official Olympic site (www.saltlake2002.com) to complete the extra credit assignment.

Suggested Grade Level: 4-5

Materials Needed: Paper, TV, access to Internet

Description of Idea

Use the following sheet of questions as extra credit. The purpose is to help engage you and your family in the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City.

The official Olympic Web site is extremely helpful in completing this project (www.saltlake2002.com)

To be successful with this project, students can pick how many of the activities they would like to do. Medal awards are based on the number of questions answered. Parents are encouraged to participate along with their children.
