![]() Name of Activity: My Pedometer Steps
Purpose of Activity: Students will be able to understand the difference in the amount of activity (number of steps) they participate in during different activities. Suggested Grade Level: 1-5 Materials Needed: My Pedometer Steps Card (print and cut out for the children) Description of Idea At the beginning of the pedometer unit, students are given a pedometer card (see below) and an assigned pedometer. They write their name and pedometer number on their card. Each day the student will put on his or her pedometer and use it for the duration of the class. At the end of class, they write the number of steps they accumulated on their pedometer card. At the end of the week, the student will compare each day and highlight the day they were the most active.
