Name of Activity: Cardio Madness

Activity cues: Quick feet!

Prerequisites: Jump rope skills

Suggested Grade Level: 6 - 8

Materials Needed: 1 jump rope and 5 dots/polyspots for each set of partners

Description of Idea

Variations:

As students improve challenge them by having the dot partner use only one foot to hop to all dots. Let them try both right then left legs.

Jump ropers can be challenged by using different skills like jumping backward, using the cross arm, trying a running jump, etc

Teaching Suggestions:

Have student step on as many dots as they can but still time them.

If student can not jump rope have them jump in place or march in place. If they are wheelchair bound have them do arm circles instead, maybe start with small arm circles and go to big arm circles.
