PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: There's sNOw reason not to exercise

Category: Outdoor Sports

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: White and Blue background paper, snowflakes, winter activity drawings

Description:

I used white background paper to make a mountain and the blue background paper to fill the rest of the board as the sky. I drew (you could use any winter activity pictures) pictures of Disney characters participating in outdoor winter activities (ice skating, snowboarding, skiing, etc.) that I stapled on the board in appropriate places (skiier coming down the mountain). On the snowflakes I printed other winter activities (snowball fights, building a snowman, etc.) that I stapled to the left side of the board on the open mountain space. I downloaded a winter font which I used to print the title of the board.
The purpose of this board is for my students to see that they could and should continue to exercise whenever they can. I used Disney in honor of me running the Disney marathon next month and they are characters that the students know. The use of pictures and words also gives an opportunity for all students to understand the board (if they can't read the word they will understand the pictures).
