Bulletin Board Ideas for Physical Education

     

Title of Bulletin Board: Web of Drugs - Red Ribbon Week

Materials: White Butcher Paper, Black Markers, "Spiders"

Description:

We drew a starburst of black lines from the upper left corner of the board using a yardstick and fat Sharpie marker, then regularly spaced arcs of black between the lines to transform it into a web. We Ellison-cut the words "Don't get caught in the web of drugs" and stapled a few black plastic spiders (found in packs of fake webbing, etc) to the board. We then blanketed the surrounding area with hand-written positive statements written on slips of paper by our 600 students, obtained by teachers whose students completed them as a class activity.

Additional Information:

The board has clogged our hallway with students as they linger in front of the board, reading hundreds of their peers' positive statements. The excitement generated by the "student involvement" factor has made the effort (of stapling hundreds of slips of paper up) well worth it.
