Description:

Portable Learning Center

This bulletin board� is a portable learning center designed for a college elementary methods course, however the concept may be integrated into any level. The purpose of the learning center is to communicate the Hellison self responsibility levels to students, display class rules, provide an area to post photos from the past lesson and visuals for today's lesson along with the rules for today's lesson and activity.

When the Learning Center is closed, a white board was created using tag board and contact paper with cork opposite for a portable bulletin board. A felt-board was created using the stop light concept to teach self-responsibility levels during physical activity. Dry erase markers complete the portable project.

The text we use is Children Moving (7th ed.) Much of the information displayed on the learning center is designed to help college students grasp concepts in chapters 1 - 12. Students in the methods course will be creating their own learning center for primary age children by week 4 of the semester.
