Description:

I chose a zoo animal/jungle theme to use for my Physical Education word wall. As a campus coordinated plan, each subject area has a word wall in their room/gym to introduce the students to as many different new vocabulary words in all subject areas.
Our emphasis for the past three weeks has been cardio fitness and at the beginning of each lesson I incorporate new vocabulary words pertaining to the area we are studying. I introduce the word,define the word, demonstrate if applicable, and emphasize the new words frequently during the lesson.

At the end of the lesson, as our closing activity, I ask the students to feed the information back to me by asking them to name a new word or to give me the name of the word I am defining. The student who answers correctly gets to attach the new word to the word wall. The students are eager to participate in this activity and love adding new words to the wall.
