Title of Bulletin Board: Step Into The Future

Materials: Bulletin Board paper, border, letter, cutout feet, numbers and explanations

Description:

This bulletin board was created during our "Making Good Decisions and Goal Setting" unit. After learning what the six steps were, students were then given a scenario, where they had to use the six steps of making good decisions before a decision could be made. They had to 1. Identify the Problem, 2. Consider their values (which we had to learn what values are), 3. List the Options, 4. Weight the Consequences (both positive and negative), 5. Decide, and Act, 6. Evaluate the choice (at a later time).

Most students agreed that IF they would STOP and THINK before making decisions, then the chances were greater that they would make the right decision. From there, students learned how stress affects the body; physically, mentally and emotionally. They realized that by making good decisions in life, their stress level could be reduced! Therefore, we wanted the students to "Step Into The Future" (their future) by making good decisions and thus lowering their stress level.
