Title of Bulletin Board: Major Muscle Mania

Category: Physical Education

Suggested Grade Level: K-5

Materials: Ellison letters, picture of human body (muscles),computer generated words, pictures of the muscles using dinosaurs

Description:

This bulletin board is perfect to use when teaching students about the different major muscles. The picture of the human is labeled with each major muscle being taught in the lessons. The additional pictures are fun ways to remember each muscle (4 headed dinosaur for quadriceps, 3 headed dinosaur for triceps, etc). A line is drawn from the name of the muscle to where it is located on the body. We used this primarily with 1st & 2nd graders and they were able to remember all the names of the muscles (even gastrocnimius) and where the muscles are located because of this board and the lessons taught.

Additional Information:

The picture of the human was found on the internet and then enlarged for printing.

The pictures of the dinosaurs came from an old program called Dino-muscles.
