Title of Bulletin Board:
Bully Free Zone
Category:
Bullying
Suggested Grade Level:
K-2
Materials:
stenciled letters, construction paper, tablecloth, and a computer
Description:
I used a silver tablecloth for the background of the bulletin board. Then I took a large piece of red poster board to make the red slashed circle. Then I used colored construction paper to make the background for my words. On the left side of the board it has "Project Safe" with the word safe written down the side. S= Say How You Feel, A= Ask for help, F= Find a Friend, and E= Exit the area. Then on the right hand side of the board it has "Project Brave" with the word Brave written up and down. B= Behave, R= Responsibly, A= And, V= Value, E= Everyone. In the middle of the red circle the word "Bullying" is written which represents no bullying. Then I have the common types of bullying written in the middle of the circle as well and they include: cyber, intimidation, social, verbal, emotional, and physical. Below the circle at the botom of the board I have "How to Deal With a Bully" and included with that it says; Ignore the bully, Stand up for yourself, Don't bully back, Don't show your feelings, and Tell an adult. At the top of the board is the main topic for the bulletin board "Bully Free Zone." This board is suppose to let children know that the school has a no bullying tolerance and it also lets the students know how to handle a situation if they are being bullied or see bullying taking place. It was a very simple board to make and didn't require a lot of money because most of the decorations were made.
