Materials: Markers, Construction paper, scissors, push pins, clip art pictures

Description:

Purpose: To introduce motor skills involving a ball.
Integrative Activity: Letter and word recognition. Imaginary play. Fine motor skills.

We used imaginary balls. The students acted out the activity with their imaginary ball. Then we sat down to draw and color pictures of balls and the activities. During the artwork creation session we talked about the words involved. I showed them some typed words. The students read the letters and pronounced the words. Then I asked if the class could think of more words that describe other activities involving a ball. They wrote them out and added them to the board. The students decorated the board themselves.
