Title of Bulletin Board:
Physical Education: Have A Ball
Category:
Physical Education
Suggested Grade Level:
3-8
Materials:
Different size balls, cardboard and hot glue, labels for each ball
Description:
The board is located in a hallway near the main office. The idea was to showcase Physical Education. So many boards around our school are a reminder of the importance of subjects like reading, math, etc. This board is to show everyone that Physical Education has a voice too and is an important subject for our students. When parents, visitors, students and staff enter the school they go by the board, which is located right there to say that Physical Education is taught here. Great for Open House so that the parents remember to visit the gym. This board is a 3d board. I used real balls, that for one reason or another couldn't hold air or were damaged. I cleaned them up and cut them in half with a saw. I place the ball in a vise grip to cut them and some I just used a box cutter. Balls which were hollow I glued cardboard to the back and then hot glued everything to the bulletin board. I labeled all the balls.
Additional Information:
I used the other half of the balls to show the students what the inside of some of the balls looked like. They were very interested in how I cut the balls in half. And even more interested in the insides of each ball.
