Title of Bulletin Board: Be Wise...Exercise! Category: Motivation Suggested Grade Level: k-5 Materials: Owl cut-outs, owl boarder, cardstock, chevron letters, bulletin board paper Description: I made this bulletin board because my students often ask me why exercise is important and why they need to be active. And it is a topic we discuss often in class. My bulletin board is right outside the gym, and the banners give the students something informative to read as they walk down the hall or line up for gym. I purchased the owls, owl border, and the chevron letters online at a teacher supply website. The banners with the reasons to exercise that the owls are holding I made myself. I used Word and just added text onto the banners. I printed them onto coordinating cardstock and simply cut them out. I gave the little owl in the right bottom corner a word bubble and it asks the students "if they can think of other reasons they should exercise". I cut the branches out of brown bulletin board paper and used aqua b. board paper as the background. I am sure that someone with more artist talent could make better looking tree branches. I did my best with my limited drawing abilities.
