Title of Bulletin Board: Junk Food Junkie

Category: Health

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: Food labels and construction paper

Description:

Nutrition Unit - Closing Activity
I had the kids trace thier foot on construction paper that was folded in half, this way it made 2 feet. They then had to attach their junk food label to their feet. They multiplied the number of calories per serving times 20 to see how many steps it would take to burn off what they had eaten. 2,000 steps equal a mile.

Additional Information:

Kids were really surprised to see just how many steps they had to take. The sweeter the treat the more steps they have to take to burn off the calories consumed!
