Materials: Muscle Poster, Sheet Protectors, Color coded sheets with muscles and descriptions of muscles, color coded arrows, black arrows

Description:

This year I am teaching the students 11 specific muscles. The 5th grade will be tested on these 11 muscles with a pre-test in the beginning of the year and post-test at the end of the year. I found the muscle poster in a catalog the school nurse had, although a poster could be made by hand as well. The first month I introduced 1 muscle. The rest of the months I will introduce 2 new muscles. When the new muscles are introduced, I put the past muscles of the month in sheet protectors that I stapled across where the "Past Muscle of the Month" sign is. The new "Muscle(s)of the Month" will go in the sheet protectors that are under the "Muscle(s) of the Month" sign. We go over where the muscles are as well as what they do. I have colored coordinated arrows that point to the new muscle(s) on the poster. I use black arrows to point to "Past Muscles of the Month"
