Title of Bulletin Board: Fall Into Fitness

Materials: Construction paper, dye cuts, pre made shapes, print outs

Description:

It was changing from Summer to Fall and we were shifting units to some Fall sports as well as learning about the Health Related Fitness components as well as the Skill related fitness components. The terms were used on leaves along with the definition in terms that the students could walk by and read and understand. The rake has the skill related fitness written on the pole and the rake fingers have each of the components labeled. The leaves were falling in an angle to go with the them as well as the word "Fall" Students were asked to bring in pictures of them performing a Fall sport or a fitness activity and they were asked to put put them up next to the component they were performing for another extra quiz on their knowledge of the board. This was a good way to integrate health into the physical activity. If there was a station day, one station was out to learn read and learn more about the board, if the students weren't taken out there for a short lecture on the idea.

For an IB school, there could be a "WonderWall" giving the students a chance to answer some essential questions relating to the board.
