Description:

The Olympic bulletin board was designed to share the culture, history and traditions of the Ancient Olympics and the Modern Day Olympics. The bulletin board had pictures and information about the following:
Olympic Flag
Olympic Flame
Olympic Torch
Doves
Creed
Oath
Motto
Mascot

My bulletin board was used as a teaching area. Each lesson, I went into detail about one of the above Olympic symbols. This led to our school wide Olympic Event that consisted of the Parade of Nations, Opening Ceremonies (that included a torch runner, doves(we used blowing of bubbles) and the reading of the oath). and the Wacky Olympics.
The students will be given summer homework to watch the opening ceremonies and to be able to identify and share with others the various symbols and traditions that we learned about.
