Description:
This bulletin board was created in response to a discussion with a class about "doing your PE best". I explained that classroom teachers often display examples of exemplary work on hallway bulletin boards, and that I wanted to be able to display exemplary movement, behavior, and choices as a result of participation during PE class. This bulletin board recognizes students who have shown exemplary work during PE class. Students in grades 2-5 were asked to complete the "PE People Project" by decorating a paper cutout of a boy or girl that would represent them. The "PE People" were then laminated and organized by class. Each student who does their “PE Best” has their "PE Person" hung up on the grade level line. Changes to each grade level line are made frequently which keeps interest and motivation high.
Additional Information:
Paper cut-outs were created ahead of time using an Ellison Die Cut machine and drawing paper. This display is in the hallway so that classroom teachers and others can recognize students who are doing their "PE Best".
