Title of Bulletin Board: Stack It Up For A Healthy Heart

Materials: Stacking cups, confetti hearts, word bubbles dealing with eating healthy or exercising

Description:

February is usually a heart themed bulletin board for my pe classes. Since we had just finished a Sport Stacks unit, I used a 3-6-3 stack formation, to highlight word bubbles that deal with eating healthy or exercising. I wanted the kids to see how eating healthy and exercising could help their hearts to be healthy. I tried to think of benefits that they might not think of, such as: exercising improves their sleep; boosts self-confidence; gives them time to spend with their families ; time to bond with their buddies. Eating healthy ideas included: eating a good breakfast; drinking water before they're thirsty; eating the rainbow way; and eating healthy snacks. Confetti hearts were used to add some sparkle, with a heart border.

Additional Information:

The kids loved seeing the cups stacked up, since they just learned how to do a 3-6-3! It also gave me a chance to talk about taking care of your heart by exercising and eating healthy.
