Title of Bulletin Board: Wishing Cancer Away

Description:

This bulletin board was built to help Kindergarten students track the amount of money they raised for our school district's Relay for Life event. Our school is an inclusive Kindergarten, and the students didn't participate in the actual relay activities. However, we created and used an obstacle course the students used the day before the event.

This bulletin board represents each of the parts of the obstacle course the students used - running, jumping, log roll, hopping, jumping jacks. Each day leading up to the event, we placed dollar bills on the obstacle course path to represent how much money was raised - each dollar represented $10 actually raised. Students were asked to bring in pocket change and collected them in "wishing wells" that were kept in each classroom. Classroom teachers helped students count the change before it was submitted to the PE teacher for collection.
