Title of Bulletin Board: Tennis Forehand, Backhand and Serve Category: Sport Skills Suggested Grade Level: 6-8 Materials: Poster Board, Construction Paper, QR code generator, Vimeo.com, EpubBud.com
Description:
I created a sport skill series of boards that allows the students at my school to use their iPads for learning. On each poster board there is a skill breakdown with pictures of the forehand, backhand and serve in tennis. There is a skill cues box with the important cues to remember for each stroke used in tennis. Finally, there is a video and iBook available to each student to view upon their mobile device! If the student uses a standard QR code scanner he or she may scan each QR code that I was able to generate and view a video demonstration of each stroke learned in our tennis unit. I was able to film each stroke and upload them to a video sharing website called Vimeo. By using a QR code generator you can link a QR code and a web URL (your video). Additionally, I created an iBook that can be read with the most up to date iBooks application on the iPad and iPhone. There are two different books available to the student. The first book covers the strokes, tennis court and school procedures for the unit. The second book focuses on the serve.
