Title of Bulletin Board: How do you get your heart pumping?

Category: Holiday

Suggested Grade Level: k-2

Materials: construction paper hearts and lettering, markers, butcher paper

Description:

We discussed the heart during february. we showed the students what a real heart looks like and what a heart shape/symbol looks like. We talked about how exercise gets your heart pumping. We asked students what thier favorite exercise, sport, or activity they do to get thier heart pumping. We also suggested if they cant get outside, they can dance around the house, see how many jumping jacks, etc they can do during commercials if they are watching tv, or even use soup cans to use for arm curls. we explained that at certain ages, the weights need to be lighter. Students then wrote thier favorite way to get thier heart pumping and we hung up on the board.
