Description:

This bulletin board was created to promote a special event that we hold during PE class. Every year, we hold a Turkey Toss for all students during their PE class and it starts on a Monday. Each child is asked to donate $1.00. On the bulletin board it describes the event, when it is occuring, and where the donations go. This is in conjunction with the parent letter that goes home. Each basketball has a motivating phrase on how this event can help them, help others. Below is the parent letter that is on this bulletin board on the right.

The week of November 1st , during Phys. Ed. Class, ALL students will take part in shooting basketballs and “tossing turkeys” in a friendly competition to see which class can score the most points. The important part of this fun day is to donate $1, or what you can, at the start of the class. These donations will be collected at the beginning of your child’s physical education class and all money collected will go toward purchasing turkeys for the holiday baskets, which will be distributed to needy families in the area. At the end of the week, the class with the highest point total from the “turkey toss”, will be awarded the “Turkey Trophy” to be displayed in the classroom for the rest of this school year. What a wonderful way to help others and have fun too!
