The bulletin board is a board to make the students think about what it is that they are eating every day during lunch. It is titled “What’s in your lunch?” With brown lunch bags showing different information about how important it is to eat a variety of the foods. Then below it states “Eat the Rainbow!” with a picture of the pyramid and also information of the three “types” of food. Go food, Slow food, and WOAH food! Then it contains a little information about each type of food! The background is light yellow so the letters and the other information will “pop” out and be much more readable. All the letters are in black, other than the word “RAINBOW,” which is done in different colors to make the idea of “eating the rainbow” more memorable. When you combine visual AND literacy, you increase the effectiveness, because the way that the brain works. When you combine 2 senses you are more likely to remember something than if you just use one sense! When making the bracelets of the different colors of the pyramid-- make sure to make different sizes or allow for the students to be able to make them small/bigger for different sized wrists.
