Title of Bulletin Board: Kick Off to a Great Year

Category: Beginning of School

Suggested Grade Level: K-2

Materials: Colored Construction Paper, Glue, Scissors, Butcher Paper, Laminating Film, sports border

Description:

The bulletin board was constructed by cutting each individual piece of the football player and cheerleader. The pieces were then glued together. The players represent Holbrook High School athletes, even though we are at the elementary school. The letters were then drawn and cut out rather then using die cuts. I then post the roster of my students and label it as Mr. Billie's varsity team. In my classroom I like to create a team mentality. I like the students to work together as a team to achieve a common goal. Thus, through the bulletin board, the students will get the concept of being on the same team rather then just being in a class together. This is a huge part of my classroom management system and it seems to have a positive impact on the students.

This is great! It has minimal pieces involved but drives home the message.
Thanks
