Description:

The “Fun in the Snow” Bulletin Board was created to share with the students some ideas of how to exercise and stay physically active when it snows. The bulletin board included both a visual picture and a title of each activity shown. Some of the activities included on the board are snowball fights, building a snowman, ice skating, sleigh riding, and shoveling snow. The idea behind the board was to help the students realize that they don’t have to sit in the house when it snows. This board was created in hopes that it would help the students realize that snow provides them with unique opportunities to do things that they can’t normally do.

This board also helped to share with the students the idea that being outside during the winter doesn’t have to mean feeling cold. A section of this bulletin board illustrated how to stay warm when playing outside in the snow, which included examples of how to dress in layers.

The third section of this bulletin board was used to share information with the students about a program provided by the state’s ski association. This program provides an opportunity for fourth and fifth grade students to learn how to ski or snowboard for free after applying and paying a small processing fee.
