Title of Bulletin Board: How Well Do You Know Your Teachers?

Materials: Sports Trivia and photos from teachers in school

Description:

This has been a fun way for students to get to know their teachers a little better and to develop a respect for them as girls and women in sport. Who knew that our principal twirled fire when in high school or that one of our 4th grade teachers enjoys boxing. I collected information and pictures from all of the female teachers in our school about their past and present participation in sports. With this information, I created trivia questions. There are pictures of teachers from youth sports as well as high school and college athletics and the students have had a great time trying to figure out who is pictured in each.

Here are the questions I asked on the questionnaire distributed to teachers:
1. What were some sports you played or physical activities you enjoyed as a child?
2. What were sports you played in high school and/or college?
3. What are some sports or physical activities you participate in now?
4. Do you have any unique sport's related trivia? (Examples: hit the most foul balls in one softball season, held the school record for the high jump).
