Teacher: Rich Lynerd who teaches at Fruitland Primary in Fruitland, MD. Rich Lynerd can be contacted at RLYNERD@wcboe.org.
Name of Best Practice: Blue's Cues
Rationale/Purpose of Event: To review learning cues for a particular skill theme.
Suggested Grade Level: K-5
Materials Needed: Picture of Blues Clues, Printed cues for the skill theme.
I taped a large picture of Blues Clues that I traced to a highly visible part of the gym wall. Next to the picture I taped a banner (which I made on the computer) that read "Blues Knows Her Cues...Do You?". Underneath the banner I listed the cues that we will use for the skill theme we are working on. The students seem to enjoy looking at this learning center and often use it to help with their activities. I find this display to be a good starting and finishing point for the day.
Teaching Suggestions/Tips:
The picture I traced is available on the Blues Clues website and is offered freely to the public at no charge.
